Hello!
Today’s post is a little bit different, it’s not a blog post per se, rather an update on my blog, where I’m at and a few small changes that are happening over here!
In January next year I would have been blogging over here for 6 whole years. Creating content EVERY, SINGLE, DAY. That is a crazy amount of content. A crazy amount of pressure.
Yes, I know. I don’t have a boss following up on my content plan but I do have me… a type A personality who, once she has committed doesn’t like to let anyone down.
I feel enormous pressure to put out content every week day because I started out that way and I know there are dedicated readers (thank you!) who come back here every day.
If I could focus on only my blog all day, every day, I might be able to get that right. It’s not too much to ask right, a blog post every day? Except that I don’t just blog. I live a normal life too… I’m a work-from-home mom who tries to be a stay-at-home mom AND a part-time working mom AND a full-time blogger. I basically have 4 hours every morning (when I don’t fit in a run too) to pump out all my freelance social media and other writing plus all my blog posts every day. (Not to mention the other errands that creep in when you’re the partner who works from home…)
This year, just because life isn’t crazy busy enough, we’ve thrown a home renovation into the mix which I have been project manager on. Let’s just say it’s been H E C T I C!
I’m so very tired, and overwhelmed, and stretched to my absolute capacity.
But I don’t want to give it up. I LOVE blogging. Blogging = life!!
I just know I need to make some changes around here. For my sanity. For my family. For me!
On my recent trip to Indonesia (read those posts here) I met another amazing lifestyle blogger from the UK who shared how she has helped to curtail the pressure of daily blogging and the guilt of an overflowing beauty product cupboard. I was like “Tell me all your secrets, oh blogging oracle”
And she did…
Her saving grace has been finding 2 or 3 up-and-coming beauty bloggers to help her keep on top of all the beauty product reviews that come her way. Brilliant!
Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE beauty and always will. Trying out new products is my thing. I will continue to do this BUT the truth is that no one person can get through all the products that I am sent. I would never do anything else. So, to help ease my guilt AND give you more info on what’s new, hot, happening in the beauty scene I thought I would take a leaf out of Amelia’s blog and try it for myself.
So, after stewing over the idea for a few weeks, I finally started the hunt for 2 beauty babes to join my team. And I found 6!
I’m thrilled to have found 6 beauty writers to join me as my Becoming you Beauty Babes. They are all so uniquely beautiful, passionate about beauty and super keen to share their knowledge.
Read on to find out who my NEW wonderful writers are and what they love about the world of beauty….
