Today I am interviewing Leilani from Of beauty and love. She is a twenty-something ex-educator, blogger, interior designer & decorator, writer, stylist, creative and luster for life! Whew! She lives in the City of Gold and has recently moved into the house of her dreams. She blogs about her process to decorate it, DIY it and make it her own. Of beauty and love is dedicated to all things beautiful, inspiring, original and lovely.
That a life without kindness, love, beauty, creativity and passion is no life at all.
Classically beautiful interiors and unique objects in the home; travelling; my husband and my two Papillion pups. I love being creative and exploring my talents. I love stationary. I love to DIY.
For décor inspiration I read loads of interior and lifestyle blogs like decor8 by Holly Becker, The Paris Apartment By Claudia Strasser, The Lennoxx by Linda and so many more. I devour home magazines, local and international.
For a fun I cannot get enough of science fiction like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett.
To escape I read historical fiction featuring Marie Antoinette and Tudor England.
For life inspiration I read The Alchemist and The Fifth Mountain by Paulo Choelo, Issabel Allende’s The House of the Spirits and The Little Prince.
An original Adrian Boshoff oil painting or running horses by Gavin Collins, Degas ballerina prints and cool Typography prints off etsy. I want to travel to Finland later this year to see the Northern lights.
Clothes that make me feel happy, pretty and confident: minis, dresses, purple black, coral, emerald green. I like something with a modern edge. And I love platform stilettos.
Peace and quiet when I work and a fluffy little dog on my lap to be calm. I need to be creative in my job to be happy and satisfied. I need to learn photoshop.
I was lucky enough to recently win 2 of Leilani’s gorgeous Pina Colada cushions which now are gracing my couch! Leilani, you are one talented lady. Thank you for taking part in this interview!
