The blogging business in South Africa is booming and that means there are new blogs popping up every day! It can be hard to keep up and I must admit that I often just stick to my old favourites… but I’ve been missing out! And maybe you have too!
There are some amazing new bloggers to follow and so I’m re-launching my What I… blogger interview series that’s been lying dormant for a few months with a slew of new!
Today I’m interviewing Cat from Boots in the Big City which is her online space where she shares her love for beauty, baking, travel and everything else in between including her favourite products, tips and tricks, places to go and things to do.
Know: Everything happens for a reason at the right time that it’s supposed to. You might not know it at the time or maybe ever really know, but very often you’ll look back and think “ah, that’s why”. Life is so very short and too many moments far to fleeting so be present and don’t take it for granted.
Love: My family (including our Chocolate Labbie, Wellington). The overwhelming love I feel for my baby boy quite literally takes my breath away. Making memories. To travel!! Chocolate (and lots of it). Writing. Summer sunshine and the feel of sand between my toes. A crisp glass a chilled bubbly and Woolworths frosted lattes. The smell of freshly baked cakes filling my kitchen. Slipping into clean sheets at the end of long day.
Read: Magazines, books and blogs! I love losing myself in a good book. A few of my favourite authors include Jojo Moyes, Jodi Picoult, John Standford and Harlan Coben but as long as a book grabs me from the from chapter one, I’m happy. Having my hands full with my four-month-old means I’m mostly reading mommy blogs and online articles that I can read off my phone while breastfeeding!
Want: To be a good role model for my son. To travel more – the quote “I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list” comes to mind! For time to slow down – I want a pause button! I want to never look back and regret the things I didn’t do.
Wear: While I love to get dressed up and put on a fabulous pair of heels, I am happiest in my favourite jeans, a t-shirt and flip-flops. I always wear my wedding rings and wont leave home without a dash of mascara and spot of concealer (a mom’s best friend!)
Need: To practice patience and soften my inner critic. As a perfectionist, I can be exceptionally hard on myself and it’s something I need to work on.
Thanks for taking the time to be part of this fun blogger interview series Cat!
