Recently I’ve received a slew of new fragrances across my desk (you might have been able to tell with all the Fragrance File posts that have been coming out over the past few weeks!!!)
Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the two new scents for women from Hugo Boss known as The Scent For Her.
I received two versions of this scent – the Eau de Toilette and the Eau de Parfum – so I’ll be reviewing both in this post and comparing them to each other.
First up…
The Scent For Her Eau de Toilette
The Scent
This is a crisp, fresh fragrance that has a sweet scent which is feminine and floral.
Light yet powerful, gentle yet confident, strong yet soft, the delicacy of this scent unfolds with an elegant allure.
Opening with bright Pink Pepper and Green Mandarin, the notes reflect the beauty of springtime.
A distinctive signature heart of Freesia Blossom and Orange Blossom is rounded out with an aphrodisiac base of dark roasted Cocoa.
The Bottle
Encased within a feminine pink box, the scent is presented in a clear glass flacon and the juice stands out in a light rose shade. The bottle is finished with a polished rose gold cap and rose gold logo. Sadly my cap oxidised after a few uses, possibly due to some cream on my hands??
The Campaign
The video campaign for the new seductive new fragrance for women stars German topmodel Anna Ewers and British actor Theo James.
Inspired by the art of seduction and irresistible act of getting closer, the luxurious and sensual perfume is designed to elicit a hidden seductive power that envelops the woman who wears it with a captivating allure.
Designed by Jason Wu, Artistic Director for BOSS Womenswear and shot by acclaimed American director, screenwriter and film producer, Darren Aronofsky, famous for Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan and Noah and with music by The Weeknd I think you’ll agree that it’s seriously sexy!
Who wears Hugo Boss The Scent For Her Eau de Toilette?
The scent will ignite an instant attraction between the woman wearer and her male counterpart. It’s a mesmerizing essence that offers an irresistible pull while the dual notes symbolise the BOSS woman’s duality.
Powerful and feminine – an enticing combination.
The soft scent will appeal to women who love to embrace their feminine, gentler side initially, and then, once they are warmed up, exposure their secret strength and sensuality.
My thoughts?
A light fresh floral scent, the sweet notes will appeal to those who enjoy peach and white flowers in their fragrance, while the roasted cocoa bean on the dry down gives the fragrance a warm, addictive ending that will linger longer.
This is an easy-wearing fragrance that is quite diverse so it can be worn day or night.

Hugo Boss The Scent for Her Eau de Parfum
The Scent
A luxurious spicy scent that seduces the senses, the Eau de Parfum version of The Scent for Her opens with the same fruity notes of honeyed peach and sweet freesia.
However, the sweet allure of the top notes transforms into something deeper and more sensual at the captivating core – osmanthus absolute, a rare raw material that showcases the hidden dark side of the osmanthus flower.
Cistus absolute enhances the roasted cocoa at the base, providing a warm elegant edge to the dry down.
The Box
Presented in textured black box featuring the scents’ silhouette and embossed with the BOSS logo in gold the Parfum Edition of The Scent for Her is a lesson in luxury and would make the perfect gift.
The Bottle
The masculine black bottle displays an elegant opaque finish that captures the spirit of seduction, while the sleek lines of the flacon flow upwards in a diamond shape,
Who wears Hugo Boss The Scent for Her Eau de Parfum?
Modern and timeless, this seductive scent is enhanced by some of the most precious natural ingredients in perfumery.
Luxurious and sensual, the wearer of this scent will be one who embraces the complex power of femininity and relish taking part in a game of equals.
My Thoughts?
I love this spicey side of the Hugo Boss woman and feel it would make for a sophisticated addition to any evening.
However, after wearing both scents for a while I’ve fallen more for the Eau de Toilette than the Eau de Parfum. Which is interesting as on first spritz I had it the other way around. I generally do prefer lighter, fresher fragrances so it could just be that I’m more used to wearing this type of scent.
What I did love about the Eau de Toilette is that it isn’t too “pretty” as it still does have a slightly spicy nose which makes it a little bit more intriguing than my usual florals.
