My How to Help series is one of my ways of sharing a bit of love to all the amazing charities and organizations around SA that make our world a better place.
Today I am sharing a bit more about Share Hope – a campaign running for the duration of September whereby Tony Ferguson Weightloss, Dis-Chem pharmacies, The Dis-Chem Foundation and African Dynamics are aiming to fight hunger by distributing up to 200 000 meals to primary school kids across the country.
The sad reality of the unemployment and high levels of poverty in our country mean that many young kids start their school day with little, or even nothing, to eat. Think about that for a moment! You wake up hungry most days and head to the kitchen to fill your tummy with some toast, maybe eggs or oats, fruit and yoghurt or even just a bowl of cereal and milk. But thousands of kids don’t have that basic necessity met – they head out the door for a full day at school with NOTHING in their tummies. It is too upsetting!
Now the Share Hope campaign is giving all South African’s the chance to get involved with this life changing initiative by providing a needy child with a nutritious breakfast….
During the month of September African Dynamics will supply a breakfast porridge at R0,60 per day (A 30g serving of this product is equivalent to a child-sized serving of FutureLife cereal) for every TonyFerguson Shake, Soup or Munch Bar purchased from participating DisChem stores.
The breakfast will be supplied in 1kg packs – a months supply – which the children will take home. It is mixed with water making it super easy to prepare and this will give the children fuel to see them through until lunch. As most of them would not usually have eaten breakfast – this will make a real difference to their ability to learn.
PLUS you can also Share Hope just by clicking the link on their website here and sharing the campaign with your friends and family via Facebook. By doing this you also stand a chance of winning a R2000 DisChem voucher for yourself! The more you share, the greater your chance of winning! Go on, Share Hope!
