One of the ways I like to use my blog platform is to draw attention to amazing charities and initiatives in order to encourage my readers to get involved and find ways in which they can help!
Recently Skip contacted me to let me know about a new (& very easy) way that you can make a difference and it involves supporting one of my favourite initiatives – The Princess Project.
The Princess Project initiative helps less fortunate Matric girls get the dress of their dreams in order for them to feel like a princess for the night of their Matric Dance. Obviously one of the ways that you can help is by donating any of your unused evening wear to the project or with cash donations but Skip are now making it even easier for each one of you to donate R500 towards the Princess Project – and it doesn’t involve you opening your wallet or even leaving your computer to sort out your cupboards!
Over the course of the next few weeks Skip will release a series of videos on their Facebook page, and for every share each video receives, Skip will donate R500 towards the Princess Project What an amazing opportunity for each one of us to give back and how awesome of Skip to be doing their little bit to help make girl’s dreams come true.
What started as an unusual idea, has grown into a full time business. The Princess Project was established in 1996 with the business objective of providing matriculant scholars or other women who are less fortunate with dresses, shoes and accessories for those special occasion.
The sad reality is that many people who cannot afford an evening dress would prefer to not attend these functions they are invited to as they fear they will stand out. So the Princess Project calls on those with dresses they no longer wear or have fallen out of love with to donate their gently worn evening wear, wedding dresses, ball gowns, and matric farewell outfits to the cause and ultimately make a difference in someone else’s life.
For more information on the Princess Project, please visit their website and see the impact that is being made: www.princessproject.co.za
Every girl deserves to look like a princess at her Matric Dance and The Princess Project helps less fortunate Matric girls get the dress of their dreams! Everyone should feel beautiful!
I’ve share the video – now it’s your turn! Head over here to share and donate R500 with the click of a button….. www.facebook.com/SkipSouthAfrica
