Every few weeks I like to share my space with another South African blogger and today it’s the turn of Genevieve Beyleveld who blogs over at Passports & Perignon.
The name of her blog might have given it away… she blogs about luxury travel & lifestyle.
Genevieve studied politics and journalism at Rhodes University, after a stint in the magazine publishing world she headed to New York to study Broadcast Journalism at the New York Film Academy. Since her return to SA she has worked as a TV Producer and Presenter, however it is her newly launched online platform, Passports & Perignon, that she is most passionate about.
She aims for her content to cut to the ‘front of the line’ when it comes to South Africa’s most talked about hotspots, whilst simultaneously remaining true to everything that she loves about life ; satire, humor and a really great massage….
I have learnt after 26 years that in order to be happy and fulfilled you need to do what you love. There is that old cheesy saying ‘Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life’. We’ll, it’s completely true. I would rather earn less and be happy than work for a corporate and be creatively unfulfilled.
I love animals, a deep-tissue massage and a really good joke.
I love non-fiction work, especially if it’s historically based. I read a little too much on World War II (I’m a history buff). Locally I love great African literature. My favourite is perhaps the late K. Sello Duiker. His books haunt me long after I have finished them.
Happiness, Health and Wealth (because I love first-class so bloody much!)
Zara. I love their simple designs and cuts. I’m a fan of black and white, I don’t wear much colour.
My family, my eleven pets and all the love in the world. Also a pair of Gucci Princeton loafers wouldn’t hurt.
