Fragrance File: First Instinct by Abercrombie & Fitch

Thanks to Cara for this Fragrance File perfume review on the First Instinct For Her fragrance by Abercrombie & Fitch

I didn’t even realize Abercrombie & Fitch made perfume until this landed in my review pile, I am so excited it did!

Abercrombie & Fitch stands for effortless American style. Since 1892, the brand has been known for its attention to detail with designs that embody simplicity and casual luxury.

The Scent

The First Instinct perfume is an uplifting fragrance with fruit notes of Grapefruit Zest with sun-kissed Magnolia, passion fruit and wild orange as well as floral notes of Water Lily and Butterfly Orchid.  The base is made up of Warm Amber heated by a contrasting blend of Creamy Tonka and Addictive Musk.

The Bottle

Simple and sophisticated, the bottle is square with a curved side at the back with a small metal label on the front.

The perfume itself is a light pink shade, it really is the most gorgeous simple bottle to add to a perfume display, although I personally keep all my perfumes in a dark draw.

The Campaign

The First Instinct range for him and her were inspired by that first moment of attraction, when two people’s worlds collide and a spark is ignited. Fragrance is a very significant sense of ours I’m sure you can think of certain smells that remind you of a moment or a memory and tie the two together.

Who wears Jimmy Choo L’Eau?

The Abercrombie & Fitch woman is truly unique and effortlessly beautiful. She knows how to follow her first instinct with innate style, charm and femininity.

First Instinct is a soft, delicate floral sweet (not sickly at all!) fragrance that is very sophisticated that any age group can enjoy. It can be worn both day and night.

My Thoughts?

Overall I am a fan of Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct, it combines all the notes I look for in a fragrance – floral, sweet and noticeable.

Every time I wear it someone compliments me on it, it is also a scent that not many people can identify. If you are on the lookout for a new scent and, like me, prefer floral scents to musky ones then definitely have a sniff of First Instinct.
