FamFest Family Fun… (& a win!)

Earlier this year saw the very first FamFest event take place at the Constantia Sports Complex (next to Virgin Active), and now, due to the great response the event had, it will be taking place again next weekend at the same venue!

This exciting 2-day event will be happening on Saturday 30 November (10am – 9pm) and Sunday 1 December (10am – 6pm) and is the perfect fun-filled family outing to kickstart your holiday season!

FamFest will be filled with the sounds of summer – live music, children laughing, adults chatting and cold drinks clinking plus the sweet smell of fresh food! There will be a wide variety of family-friendly games and entertainment all set to take place in a beautiful outdoor setting.FamFest_1

Some of the fun activities taking place include:

Sporting achievement and personal development group Sporting Chance will be hosting free coaching programs for children
JellyBean Events will be doing on stage dance routines with the kids
Music development program DRUMKiDZ will take everyone through a Djembe Drumming musical journey.
UPliftment Programme’s Care Clowns, stilt walkers and face painters will be making their way through the crowds to spread some joy.
MAfrika will getting families laughing and learning in her highly interactive edutainment shows.

Not forgetting the adults, FamFest will host guest speakers over the weekend such as Nutritional Therapist and kid’s health specialist Hannah Kaye who will be talking about ‘Mood Foods for Kids’ on Saturday.

The second stage at FamFest will also see some great live performances from the likes of by K, Ray and the Bird, The Rob Thompson Trio and The Cape Doctors. Also making an appearance will be Rocktober headliners The Rockerfellas, and recent headline act at The Wacky Wine Festival: Me and Mr Brown.

Health, Safety and Security are paramount at FamFest and every child is given a wristband on entry – with parents or guardians asked to write their telephone numbers on the wristbands. There is a clearly visible meeting point, with announcements made throughout the day to ensure smooth operations plus on-site medic. FamFest is about simplicity and in the spirit of keeping things hassle free so there will be ATM’s and card-machine facilities on site.

Tickets for FamFest are now available for purchase from Quicket or at the gate on the day. Entry is free for children under 2 years and all entertainment will be included in the ticket price (R80 for adults, R40 for kids aged 2 – 18).

I’m pleased to be giving away 1 x “Family Pack” consisting of 2 x Adult and 2 x Under 18 tickets worth R240 to one lucky Becoming you reader!

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
