Earthchild’s Revamped Waterfront Store plus Summer Collection 2014

Two weeks ago I was invited to the launch of Earthchild’s recently revamped Waterfront store. I loved the new look and especially the concept where as far as possible the store had used recycled and eco-friendly material to create their new look! South Africa’s first
recycled concept store!

For a greener approach, the Earthchild V&A store includes the following recycled elements:
– LED lighting
– Nontoxic paint
– Aluminium free
– FSC Certified floor
– Recycled boards & Upcycled pallets
– Recycled shop fittings
– Wire Hangers
– Organic Cotton Clothes

I loved the story of their 100% recycled handmade hangers by local wire artist, Tendai – over 3000 in total! A man of few words and countless smiles, Tendai sourced his wire from scrap yards in and around Cape Town and completed the project with just one assistant! It was such an honour to meet this warm and humble man at the launch!

Earthchild Clothing offer the most amazing natural and organic cotton clothing of the finest quality and comfort, besides their beautiful basics, there were so many gorgeous trendy outfits on offer. Here are few pics I snapped on the morning of the amazing recycled store plus the new range of clothes for boys, girls and babies for Summer 2014!

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
