After hearing so many good things about Curate and driving past it many times I finally managed to pop into this stunning space last week (So happy that schools are back and I’ve got a few child-free hours every now and again…)
Curate shop is a space that brings together art, sculpture and décor solutions in a gallery-like setting.
The shop is bright and beautiful and filled with fresh designs that will inspire you. It is a veritable treasure trove of affordable artwork and design objects!
Curate has been created and “curated” by Sarah Heinamann whose love for international museum shops led her to open this space. “I want to create a place of inspiration, where everything captures your heart. Even our gift-wrapping is so delicious that you’ll want to buy something… just to have it packaged.”
Curate is located in one of my favourite parts of Cape Town – Wynberg Chelsea – and shares space with acclaimed South African furniture designer Pierre Cronje. There is plenty of off-street parking and even a spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and a sweet treat too.
I really enjoyed my visit, there was so much to see and photograph that I couldn’t pull myself away! Some of my favourites were the spectacular artworks by Orlanda Broom featuring technicolour tropical scenes, the delightfully delicate laser cut cards from Artymiss and the gorgeous aqua and gold drop earrings by Black Betty which are on my birthday list!
