In an attempt to inject a little bit more testosterone into this space this week’s What I… blogger interview is a with a Dad blogger!
Craig is a veteran of the South African blogging scene as he has been blogging under various names since 2007! He writes over at Dad and the Code about his daily dad life, some parenting advice, technology & code tutorials, gaming, movies, animation and comic books interspersed with other humour!

I know that I need to treasure and make the most of the time that I have with my girls until such a time that they no longer WANT to spend time with me (a stage that will probably hit sooner than what I imagine!). Hobbies, sports, personal growth, etc. can all wait for now! Oh, and I know quite a bit about software development as well – it is kind of my thing after all. Also, my writing is apparently not too shabby either I’m told…
I love my family, I love the beautiful place that I stay (Gordon’s Bay), and I love the fact that I get to work from home for four days of the week. That last one really is a difficult one to beat! (So, so much flexibility!)
I was a voracious reader as a child and teenager, so I suspect that I basically just got tired of reading from overdoing it. As an adult, I’ll maybe pick up one Terry Pratchett book a year, but these days I tend to prefer reading in much shorter bursts – so something like a comic book every now and then does if for me.
Material possessions are really something that I’m not too interested in, so perhaps the thing I want the most is loads more money in order to fund even more adventures, expeditions and weekends away with the family! Ooh, and overseas holidays – now who wouldn’t want that?!
I’m a plain t-shirt and shorts guy, much to my wife’s chagrin. Seriously, I’m that guy, who in the middle of winter, will be sitting at the restaurant dressed as if I was out on summer vacation. Sigh, I wish I had more desire to be stylish, but I really, really don’t. Also, I don’t really like t-shirts with prints. Go figure.
I earn enough money, and am pretty satisfied with life, so it would be difficult to come up with something that I truly need. Perhaps more blog recognition? Seeing my stats on the rise always seems to bring a smile to my face! 😉
