On my recent jaunt to Durbs for the Blog Olympics I was fortunate to briefly meet talented online writer & blogger Cath Jenkin.
As a copywriter and columnist, Cath Jenkin has been a familiar online voice since the days of dial-up and ISDN! Earlier this year she combined her two greatest loves – parenting and technology – and joined content agency, Content Candy, as a writer and as Managing Editor for DigiKids. Cath blogs in her personal capacity over at www.cathjenkin.wordpress.com and regularly writes columns for Parent24, Women24 and others! Read on to find out more about her…
Know – is that life has very little to do with what you own, have or think you have. It has everything to do with how you approach what you’re given through and during life though. I’ve always felt that my biggest challenge as a human (and a mom!) is realising and teaching that we’re not all equal, but we are all entitled to our unique perspectives. Everybody has a story, and each one deserves to be told.
Love – is that funny quiet that arrives each morning, somewhere between 4 and 5am, when my family is still asleep and I look over at them, snoozing away. In the background, I can hear the city waking up, and this is why I love summer – it’s that early morning sunshine that just makes me happy! For most of my life, I never thought I’d have a family – for a long time, I’d truly, mentally signed up to be a single mom, and I loved the experience. Five years down the line of this family life, and I still get a feeling of surprise and amazement that this funny, giggling triangle of people are all mine.
Read – As much as I can, wherever I can. I will admit that nowadays books are a rarity and I read more online, but there’s nothing that can stop me from digging in to the latest Caitlin Moran and the like!
Want – to find our new house! Haha! We’re moving soon, and changing life up quite a bit! I cannot wait to get to it!
Wear – a lot of casual stuff. It’s not often that I’ll get dressed or jazzy, but I love it when I do!
Need – Need is a strong word. Truthfully, I need nothing, except maybe another cup of tea? 🙂
