I know that I am loved. And I know that love casts out fear.
I also know that life is tough for a lot of people. In our culture we are very quick to judge people for the decisions that they make but, until you understand the path that they took to get to that decision, you really don’t have the right. We spent 9 months driving in some of the most remote spots in Africa and you quickly learn that if you had the education, background and life expectations as the people we met; you would have made the same choices.
I LOVE adventure and I adore my husband. I’ve just got back from almost 3 years of travelling with him. I often wake up dreaming of one of the places we’ve visited, sometimes a certain smell will triggers a flood of memories or a photo that transports you back to the place you visited. It’s in those moments that I can’t believe how blessed I am.
And I’m so grateful for my amazing friends and family. I love blogging because it gives me the platform to meet new friends and I’m pre-in-love with our kitten that arrives on Friday. I love dancing and laughing.
I read a LOT. Almost anything fiction, except historical novels, I can’t stand them. I love a good whodunnit, most novels that get translated from Swedish and some of the classics. Luckily I’m not a literary snob, I’m happy to re-read the same books over and over, which is a good thing, because otherwise I’d be very poor. Favourite book: Goodnight, Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian. It’s a children’s book, set during the second world war (the most important exception to my above inviolable rule that decrees all historical novels to be awful).
Hmm, almost all of the contents of Witchery’s shop at the Waterfront, and Mango, and unlimited flights worldwide (business class if anyone is offering). And… World Peace.
Good question. In my ideal world I would look AMAzing in tracksuit pants and a t-shirt and could therefore spend my life looking fabulous while blissfully comfortable. Sadly though, reality is a hard task master, and so my style is basic t’s, jeans, dresses and skirts that fit well, generally in neutral colours that I accessorise with splashes of colour if I’m feeling brave. I wear heels under duress and I’m not sure that the wedges I wear even count as heels, but when you’re 5’11 it doesn’t matter as much.
Very little. Well, tea. Tea, like oxygen, is essential for life.
