Beauty Review: Bioderma Sébium Gel moussant – purifying cleansing gel

Today’s Beauty Review is brought to you by Beauty Babe, Noku.

Cleansing is my favourite step in my skincare routine; It helps me feel refreshed in the mornings and helps me unwind and remove the day’s makeup and dirt.

Before taking my skincare seriously, I used to use harsh cleansers which would often leave my skin feeling tight and stripped. Since understanding my skin better, I’m much stricter on my cleanser choices.

After reading up on Bioderma, I was excited to try out their Sebium Purifying Cleansing Foaming Gel, as it’s highly recommended by dermatologists and soap free.

What does this product promise to do?

The product promises to gently cleanse and purify the skin without drying it. It limits sebum secretion and thoroughly purifies the epidermis and reduces blemishes while balancing the skin’s PH level.

What are the main ingredients of this product?

The main ingredient is sodium cocoamphoacetate, a gentle cleansing agent derived from coconut fatty acids. It functions as a cleansing agent and can also have mild conditioning properties. Methylpropanediol is also high in the ingredients list; the synthetic ingredient enhances the absorption of ingredients. It has also been proven to have hydrating properties that can leave a smooth and dewy.

How do you use this product?

I use this cleanser after my oil cleanser and follow up with my serums and moisturizer. I have noticed I’m less oily on my T-zone, which is my problem area, especially during summer.

What do you love most about this product?

I love that the cleanser foams up quickly and doesn’t leave my skin dry, which happens with most foam cleansers. I also really like the pump bottle and how easy it is to control the amount of product you use and the large bottle.

What did you dislike about this product?

There’s nothing I hate about the product; however, I do feel like they have added unnecessary ingredients like Zinc & Copper sulfate. Both these ingredients have little research showing that they are beneficial for the skin.

Who do you think would most benefit from this product?

This cleanser is perfect for combination to oily skin as it limits sebum (oil) secretion which causes breakouts.

I’m enjoying this product; it fits my needs for a cleanser which is non-stripping and removes dirt after oil cleansing. It’s also has a great texture! I will continue using it through summer.
