Beauty Review: Bioderma’s Solution for Sensitive, Dry Skin – Hydrabio & Atoderm

As I’ve got older I’ve found that my skin is getting more and more dry… in fact most skin experts will tell you that it’s not actually dry, it’s dehydrated!

As someone who struggles with dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin I’ve been really loving Bioderma for quite some time already.

In fact a search of my archives reveals that I’ve mentioned the brand as one of my favourite finds a few times over here and here (I really need to revive this series.. I’ve been missing it!!) plus it’s also got some airtime from my Beauty Babes Cara! So it’s not just me that’s singing their praises…

I currently just can’t get enough of the Bioderma range of face & body products which has been created especially for those who struggle with dry to very dry and sensitive skin.

Hydrabio for face and Atoderm for body!

Hydrabio Face Products for Dry, Sensitive Skin

Previously I’ve been crazy about the super nourishing Hydrabio Creme that delivers a rich moisturising cream but with a lightweight feel. The cream generates ultra hydration and intense radiance leaving my skin feeling soft & nourished. This product is Hypoallergenic, Non-comedogenic and Paraben-free. R353.02

All the products in the Hydrabio range contain the patented biological complex Aquagenium™ that generates intense hydration, stimulates the skin’s cellular capacities and reactivates its natural hydration process by stimulating the production of aquaporins (water channels in the skin) and retaining the water it needs in order to be balanced. Thanks to an emulsion inspired by the structure of the epidermis, the active ingredients of the Aquagénium™ patent penetrate deeply and in a more targeted manner.

Another firm fave of mine (which I’m never without and repurchase if I am!) is the Hydrabio hydrating Micellar Water. This is the ultra hydrating sister of the world’s first and No.1 selling micellar water – Sensibio H20 – one of Bioderma’s cult products and you’ll spot it in the beauty cabinets of all the top celebs and models (I LOVE Coveteur for this!)

Hydrabio H2O is one of the first dermatological micellar waters, meaning it has been tested to be perfectly compatible with the skin. A non–rinse cleanser and make–up remover, it cleanses thoroughly yet ever so gently, leaving skin feeling hydrated and fresh. It has a high moisturising power with excellent tolerance. I use mine daily for removing makeup and have never had a reaction despite my rosacea prone skin! R221.88 for 250ml and R322.76 for 500ml.

Another skin saviour in the dry dark days of winter is the Hydrabio Masque. This moisture-generating cocooning mask for sensitive, dehydrated skin hydrates skin deeply and gently restores softness and radiance. I love the ultra-pampering texture of this gel creme and love applying it just before bedtime so there’s no need to tissue it off. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and nourished plus it’s super simple to use. I love a quick and easy product that delivers results. A 75ml tube retails for R272.32.

The velvety Hydrabio Serum boosts hydration thanks to hyaluronic acid. I use this every morning before my moisturiser and it’s ideal on dry days as it generates long-lasting hydration and instantly smooths the skin and restores radiance. RSP R322.76 for a 40ml pump bottle.

Atoderm Body Products for Dry, Sensitive Skin

External factors such as pollution, UV rays, temperature variations and stress, coupled with increasingly urban lifestyles, can leave your skin dehydrated and sensitised. To ensure everyday resistance to the skin drying elements that can make skin sensitive and reactive, it’s vital to keep skin moisturised and hydrated.

When it comes to dry bodies Bioderma have got you covered with their #SkinBodyguard – the Atoderm range. The Atoderm range was specifically formulated to treat dry, very dry and super sensitive skin making it ideal for skin prone to atopic eczema.

For skin lacking moisture and lipids, Atoderm restores the hydrolipidic film biologically (and lastingly), thanks to its dermo-patented formulas with SkinBarrier Therapy™,  while Skin Protect Complex stimulates the skin to create its own hyaluronic acid and rebuild its barrier function.

Two of the hero products from this range are the Atoderm Shower Cream – A deliciously pampering daily shower cream cleanser that prevents skin dryness. this product cleanses while it softens and protects. RSP R269.95 500ml.

The Atoderm Cream is a luxurious daily moisturiser that is fragrance-free, paraben-free and hypoallergenic. This ultra-nourishing cream will help to repair and protect your skin leaving it feeling smooth and soft. Available in a 200ml tube for R239.95 and a 500ml pump for R319.95.
