A new pop of colour on my nails is a surefire way to lift my spirits… and at the moment this little slice of luxury is one of the ways I’m getting through the weeks at home!
I took delivery of the Morgan Taylor Rocketman collection a few months ago, but my previous life before lockdown was so chaotic that I hardly managed to look at it let alone try it out… but that’s all changed and I’m slowly making my way through all the beauty products in my overflowing cupboard so expect to see a lot more reviews coming your way… and hopefully I’ll have caught up by the time life returns to “normal” and then I’ll have a much better system for keeping on top of my reviews!! Fingers crossed
Anyway back to the beautiful, bright colours of the Rocketman collection from Morgan Taylor…
The limited edition Morgan Taylor Rocketman collection features six new bright shades and a new glitter. This collection is full on fun with popping pinks and purples, a super fresh yellow and glam glitter!
Inspired by the movie Rocketman – based on the life of the very colourful Elton John – this collection is as bold as the man himself.
The collection I reviewed from Morgan Taylor prior to this was all about nude, neutrals so this is a big departure but really fabulous for bringing some sunshiney summer vibes to your life.
Here is a breakdown of the pretty polishes in this collection…
It’s The Shades – A vibrant hot pink crème. This is a hot pink neon polish that I tried out first and it’s perfect for perking up your mood!
Glow Like A Star – A light sunny yellow somewhere between a classic spring pastel and a vibrant sunflower yellow. It only needed two coats which is great for this kind of polish.
Put On Your Dancin’ Shoes – A bright orange-red. This polish has a jelly-polish type finish – high shine but a little bit transparent. After two coats you can still see a nail line.
Tickle My Keys – A bright lilac-pink crème. A slightly more purple toned bubblegum colour that looks best after 2 coats.
Just Me & My Piano – A dark purple crème. This is a bold, rich colour that feels really fun. It dries matte so if you prefer a shiny finish use a top coat.
Sir Teal To You – A warm summer teal green with a pretty shimmer.
Bedazzle Me – A cool toned glitter topcoat with lilac, pink, and blue holographic micro- and medium-glitter, and large hexagonal pieces of red, silver, green, pink, purple and blue glitter.. These types of polishes can be tricky as they need a lot of careful placement in order to achieve a decent coverage and a full glitter effect. I tried one coat over the hot pink polish on my statement ring finger and it looked lovely!
There is also a limited edition mini 4-pack available which includes shades Tickle My Keys, It’s The Shades, Sir Teal To You and Bedazzle Me.
Morgan Taylor Rocketman range offers a great selection of fun colours. There are some classic shades that will stay in fashion forever, and then there are a few extra unique colours that will ensure a unique look.
The Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquers each contain 15ml of product, and I love the shape of their handles as they are so easy to hold thanks to the gentle tapering towards the top. The brushes are also brilliant as they’re thin, but wide with a rounded tip allowing maximum coverage of the nail in just one or two swipes.
The polishes do dry down a couple of shades deeper on the nails, and dry down to a satin finish however they truly come alive when topped with a glossy top coat.
The formulas are easy to apply and all pigments are saturated, pure and finely milled and free from formaldehyde, and DBP. The payoff is smooth, even, long-lasting colour with a gorgeous professional finish. Even one of my closest friends was convinced I’d somehow snuck in a professional mani when she spotted my nails during a Zoom call!
My fave colour in this collection is a toss up between It’s The Shades and Just Me & My Piano.
Which is your favourite shade in the range?
