A few weeks back I was invited to join Elizabeth Arden for their 2017 press junket… And boy was it a wonderful way to spend 2 days!!!
After learning all about their new product launches for the year we ended off the event with a chance to play with all the wonderful new products…
Two stand outs for me were the beautiful Tropical Escape collection for face and lips and the striking Eyes Wide Open collection for bold, yet natural eye definition!
Today’s post is all about both of these collections and the beautiful products I’ve been trying….
Tropical Escape Collection
Beautiful new Sheer Kiss lip oils (R295). These are fashionable and functional lip oils that come in a sturdy plastic orb with a squishy centre that you press to release the colour.
Packed with 4 different oils – coconut, avocado, tsubaki, meadowfoam – and the collagen plumping Spilanthus Acemella Flower Extract, these oils have added hydrating benefits to rejuvenate lips with a luxurious yet non-greasy feel. This minty-smelling lipgloss is rich in antioxidant vitamins too.
These pretty lip oils are available in 6 tinted shades. Pictured here are Rejuvenate Red and Nude Oasis. Other colours avail are Pampering Pink, Heavenly Rose, Purple Serenity and Coral Caress.
The FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder (R550) is a 4-in-1 product that will help you to sculpt, contour and glow with a few easy sweeps…
Featuring highlighting, blusher, contouring and bronzing powders, this product contains ingredients that will soften dry skin, absorb excess oil for a matte finish and blend easily to add a natural warmth to the face.
Included in the packaging is a little diagram to show you how you can use each colour to contour and highlight your face although getting the small supplied brush into each tiny square without touching the other is a challenge!
Start by using the deepest shade along the hollows of your cheekbones, hairline and jawline. Apply very lightly or build up for more definition. Accentuate your features by highlighting cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, across the centre of the eyelids, on the cupid’s bow and your collar bones. Add a final finish with a sweep of pink to the apples of your cheeks.
And if you’re in a rush or a bit lazy you can also just use the bronzer as an all-in-one product by applying all the colours to your bronzing brush and sweeping them all over your face like a regular bronzer for a natural glow!
Eyes Wide Open Collection
Eyebrows are still big this season so if you have sparsely populated brows this is your new best friend: The Statement Brow Gel Shaper (R285). Groom, fill in and style your brows to create a defined shape that will last the whole day.
Key ingredients include beeswax, kaolin, shea butter and silk, while the unique bristled brush is easy to use. Colours avail include Deep Brown, Brown, Honey and Blonde.
“To achieve full, natural brows always brush hair in the opposite direction of growth moving from the tail end to the inner corner to thicken. Then use the left over pigment on the brush to comb brows back, up and out.” –
Rebecca Restrepo, Elizabeth Arden Global Makeup Artist
Mascara is a must! No one, even an “everymom” can leave the house without a slick of this stuff. You just can’t!
The newest mascara from Elizabeth Arden, Lasting Impression Mascara (R365), is ideal for those looking for instant results. It’s innovative formula is buildable, delivering exceptional length, separation and definition.
Containing Ceramide technology, this mascara envelopes lashes to thicken them too, while the unique brush has five conic spheres to deliver super long lashes, swipe after swipe.
Lastly, the best of the Eyes Wide Open collection must be these ultra-pigmented eyeshadow palettes delivering bold, smokey, seductive eyeshadow options for everyone… and all made to suit your own sense of eyeshadow style!
Introducing the NEW customisable Little Black Compact eyeshadows….
Buy 2 trio palettes and insert them into the customisable & classy black palette holder allowing you to customise your own colour palette. Choose from 10 different trio options, including flattering neutrals, bright blues, smokey greys, pretty pinks and vibrant purples. There are shimmer, metallic or matte options and the powder can be applied wet or dry for day or night! What’s more the formula is also opthamologist tested.
I choose 4 different trios (clockwise from top left):
- Bronzed to Be
- Oh so Pink
- Not so Nude
- You had me at Merlot
And this is how the palette works… You can slide in and out the colour options you love the most. Buy 2 trios and the palette for R770 or extra trios to interchange for R385 ea.
As a bonus I’ve included another Makeup Look as the last one was pretty well-received!
I’m no makeup artist or professional beauty blogger… I’m just an “everymom” who enjoys looking fresh and awake, and somewhat put together occasionally!!
I like to think that I’ll inspire a few other “everymoms” out there to try out a few new looks, esp with the summer season on the horizon!
This Easy Everyday for “Everymom” look I created using the following products from Elizabeth Arden…
Foundation: Prevage Flawless Finish in Beige (I’m totally in love with this product and my bottle is coming to an end. Sob!)
Bronzer: The deepest colour from the FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder (Medium) from the Tropical Escape Colour Collection (R550)
Blusher: The pretty pink from the FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder (Medium) from the Tropical Escape Colour Collection (R550)
Highlighter: The lightest colour from the FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder (Medium) from the Tropical Escape Colour Collection (R550)
