Review of the Almay 9 Pop Eyeshadow Palette
I already had the chance to review the Almay BFF foundation, so being able to review these 9 pop palettes was a treat.
I am very much a lips girl. I love a bold lip, it is my signature look, however every now and again my eyes become the feature. So when receiving these two palettes from Almay I knew it was time to let my eyes be the focus and get creative.
I was automatically draw to the Naturalista palette (Almay’s name choice not mine) The colour combo was right up my alley. Having blue grey eyes I tend to always go for warmer tones because these colours make my eyes pop and I mean who doesn’t want that, right?!
The texture combo is well balanced, you get two matte colours in the palette and six satin sheen, which is fab because mixing textures is great for giving depth to the eye and also allows for creating day to night looks in one go.
These shadows are soft, they glide on smooth and evenly with none of the chalky nonsense that makes blending tricky. These shadows were easy to blend and had very little fall out.
They are highly pigmented even though I did layer when applying, but I do this with all eyeshadows as it increases the longevity and wear of the shadow.
The packaging is compact and seems very sturdy. It does come with an applicator which is handy but I still prefer using a brush – it’s the artist in me!
Pro Tip: Wet an angle or liner brush, dip into eyeshadow and use as a liner.
There are two palettes available, the other being called Fabulista, which would look amazing on brown or green eyes. I feel colour choice is spot on with these palettes, there are no crazy, random colours that most people would never wear. All in all, I would be happy to use these palettes any time of day or night 🙂
