Transitioning from Summer to Autumn is always a struggle for me, I hate to admit when Summer is officially over. We have the occasional glorious sunny in day in Autumn and that excites me because I have one more chance to whip out “the smell of Summer” as I like to call it and that is my sunscreen.
That being said we really should be wearing sunscreen every single day of the year and not just when the sun is out!
Last year, before a trip to Greece, I was on the search for a great sunscreen for my face and a makeup artist friend of mine friend of mine recommended Heliocare.
I bought it and I loved it. It is waterproof and tinted and feels just like you’re wearing a light foundation. The version I started out with is a tube with a convenient pump.
To make things even more convenient, and to tempt one to wear sunscreen throughout the year, Heliocare have now brought out a sunscreen in a compact form.
The paraben and alcohol-free formula is water-resistant and is a foundation and sunscreen in one.
It is buildable, so one can choose the amount of coverage you would like from it.
Heliocare 360 has an SPF of 50+ and contains their exclusive patent Fernblock which has powerful antioxidant properties from ingredients like caffeic acid and ferulic as well as fractioned melanin to ensure ultimate protection and prevention from dark spots occurring.
The compact has a mirror and an applicator pad for easy application, although I generally prefer to use my fingers.
The Heliocare 360º Colour Cushion Compact is the first dermatological photo protection in a cushion compact.
The Hydro-complex of emollient actives enhance skin repair and restores the barrier function of the skin to obtain greater hydration through two synergistic mechanism of passive and active hydration.
Unfortunately, for now, it only comes in three different shades – pearl, beige and bronze. Hopefully, sometime soon, more colours will be launched.
The Heliocare 360 Colour Cushion Compact retails for approx R520
