Battle of the…. Face Wipes

When it comes to convenience nothing beats a makeup wipe… but which one is the best for you and your skin’s needs?

Today’s Battle of the… blog post is a round up of makeup wipes by Beauty Babe, Kirsty!

Battle of The Face Wipes

Wipes are just the most convenient thing when it comes to removing makeup at the end of the day.

Although I would never use a wipe in place of my usual cleanser, I do love the ease and effectiveness with which wipes remove makeup, and now waterproof eye makeup too! (Personally I still do prefer using a gentle eye makeup remover on a cotton swab around the very sensitive eye area though)

So which are the best wipes for the job? Here are my thoughts on a few makeup removing wipes that I have had the privilege of trying….

L’Oreal Skin Perfection Purifying Cleansing Wipes

Skin Type: Normal to Combination skin

I really enjoyed using these wipes as I found that it removed my makeup very efficiently. The fragrance of the wipe is pleasant but quite intense, so if you are someone with sensitive skin who tends to steer away fragranced beauty products then I’d suggest giving this one a miss.

The great thing about this wipe is that it is alcohol free so will most likely not leave your skin feeling tight and dry. Another bonus is that it removes waterproof Mascara, although because the wipe is slightly on the drier side, I found myself rubbing the eye area quite a bit to get my mascara off, which is not something I generally enjoy doing.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Oil-infused Cleansing Wipes

Skin type: Dry and sensitive skin.

I found this wipe lovely and moist but non greasy with a great unusual fragrance.

The fabric that the wipe is made of is soft and gentle on the skin. It is for use around the eye and lip area as well. A bonus is that it removes waterproof eye makeup too.

Nivea 3-in-1 Gentle Cleansing Wipes

Skin type: dry and sensitive

The Nivea 3- in – 1 Gentle wipes are targeted at those with dry and sensitive skin. Removes makeup and waterproof mascara, cleanses gently and moisturises skin.

The key ingredient in these wipes is Almond oil, which – even though I have a combination to oily skin type – I absolutely love using on my skin a couple of times a week as it cleanses pores and and adds moisture to the skin.

Nivea 3-in 1 Refreshing Cleansing Wipes

Skin Type: Normal to Combination skin

Another addition to the Nivea 3- in -1 range are the Nivea Refreshing cleansing wipes which are aimed at normal to combination skin types.

These wipes are also for use around the Face, eyes and lips. Containing vitamin E which is an anti-ageing ingredient useful in improving skin elasticity and adding moisture as well as a natural antioxidant.

Sorbet Salon Skin Specialist Care Cleansing Wipes.

Skin Type: All skin types

A wonderful wipe with a subtle fragrance. What I love is the interesting bobbly texture of this wipe, which feels rough yet gentle on the skin. With the reverse side of the wipe being smooth, I like to use it to wipe off the excess makeup and then the textured side to do an extra clean which feels like a gentle exfoliation.

These cleansing wipes contain powerful actives and essential oils which helps to improve radiance in the skin and is recommended to use in conjunction with the Sorbet Salon skin range.
Which faithful makeup removing face wipes are your go to for cleaning off your makeup at the end of the day?

  1. My absolute favourite wet wipes are the exfoliating ones from Sephora I bought them a couple of months ago in Singapore. They work wonders the one side is a little rough for exfoliating and the other side is smooth to gently wipe away makeup. After using it nothing else compares I only wish that we could get them in SA 🙁

    1. I only wish Sephora would come to SA!! Wouldn’t that be incredible!!! I popped into my first Sephora in Athens a few months back and it was mind-blowing!! Next time I stumble across one I’ll be sure to look out for these. Thanks for your comment Bianca.
