Taschen’s Home Turf

As I might have mentioned I adore books of all shapes and sizes, however I have a particular passion for coffee table books – the heavier the better! One of my favourite publishers is Angelika Taschen who publishes books under the Taschen label. Her focus is on publishing beautiful books about art, interiors, design, gardens – all topics I love. The photography is always breathtaking and I especially love the interiors featured – always original and inspiring.

Over the years I have added to my collection, the titles I have so far include: Gardens in France, Provence Interiors, Seaside Interiors and Living in the Countryside. The last on the list I made my husband carry around London in a backpack for a whole day while sightseeing. He has not let me forget it! (I bought it at the start of the day not thinking… You will understand when you see the size of it!)
Anyway I love my Taschen books and I hope to continue adding to this list in the future!

When I stumbled across some photos of Angelika Taschen’s personal home I was intrigued as she clearly has access to some of the most amazing homes in the world…. It was interesting to discover that her own living space is actually filled with not very much!
It is an open, clean, neutral space filled with natural light and some amazing chandeliers and of course, books!

Pretty perfect if you ask me! What do you think??

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. Did you know there is a stockist in the Cape Quarter?

Just behind the new CQ shopping centre, on one of those little side streets & they sell Taschen pretty much exclusively.

    It’s called Ampersand Books.
