Adrenaline adventures at Knysna Ziplines

After an action packed morning exploring the forests of Knysna and kayaking the canals of Thesen Island during our stay at The Turbine Boutique Hotel, we had a quick break for a delicious lunch at Il de pain before piling back into our comfortable carriage – the Ford Tourneo – and heading out for our next adrenalin-fuelled adventure…

Ziplining through the gorgeous gorges of the Garden Route at Knysna Ziplines.

Not quite sure what to expect at these brand new ziplines, I was under the impression that we would be soaring through the treetops, however I was quickly to discover how wrong I was when we finally emerged at our destination after our safety briefing and sign in and discovered that the Knysna Ziplines are far more focused on getting your adrenaline pumping as these ziplines zig zag high above a precipitous gorge!

This unique experience sees you ascend one wooden platform after another, only to hurtle yourself (safely strapped in by the professional guides!) out over the treetops and across the valley at top speed across some of the longest ziplines in the world!

I LOVED this experience and could easily have carried on going after our 6 lines (they are still building 2 more lines!) The view of the surrounding forest, valley, sea and landscape from this vantage point is breathtaking (if you haven’t already become breathless from the excitement of it all!)

Designed and installed to enhance the natural beauty of the Kranshoek Sanparks picnic site, these ziplines are a brand new adventure activity on the Garden Route that the whole family will LOVE (if they don’t hate heights of course!)

This is the 5th ziplining experience I have enjoyed (Elgin, Cape Town, Tsitsikamma, Drakensberg… to name the others) and I have loved them all. They are all great fun and offer a different ziplining experience at each venue.

I highly recommend this as a fabulous family outing that will be fun for all ages and fitness levels… plus you’ll have some great shared memories to enjoy for years to come!

Challenge your fears and experience the extremely long cables that crisscross the gorge at a height of up to 200 meters above sea level!
