Mom-Friendly Fashion: A dress to dress up or down

As a mom on the (school) run, dresses are some of the easiest clothing items to own!

All I need to do is throw on one item and I’m good to go (depending on how accessorized I want to be of course!).

I recently spent some time searching the rails at Poetry’s Cavendish store for a dress that would be ideal to dress up or down, in terms of layering!

I came across was this pretty floral dress, the Zara Floral Dress (R650) which has mid to long length sleeves and falls just below the knee.

It’s pretty print, in a palette of navy, white and splashes of coral & pink, make it ideal for wearing in winter with a pair of navy tights and ankle boots or in summer with bare legs and sandals.

I chose to pair this timeless dress with a pair of flat ballet pumps in navy (Poetry sell similar in a range of colours, currently priced at R499 on sale), a Pepper saddle bag (R1 299) and a navy leather jacket in the softest leather imaginable.

I accessorized this dress with a pair of drop earrings and a gold cuff from the items currently on sale in store and my Daniel Wellington watch.

This gorgeous Desiree Leather Jacket (R2800 on sale) is a classic that will stand you in good stead for in-between season dressing for years to come!

Nothing beats a leather jacket for ease of wear. Just throw one on over a dress or jeans and you’re good to go! You can even wear this quality item for nights out! I fell in love with it and it’s versatility – the perfect piece to add some easy glam to any wardrobe.

Do you own a dress that’s easy to dress up or down?

This is probably one of the most versatile items in your wardrobe and if you don’t have one yet I encourage you to be on the look out for this mom-friendly fashion item on your next shopping trip!
