Timeless Travels – Bay of Poets, Italy
These images are taken in Lerici situated on the Bay of Poets in Italy. I spent a few hours there at the end of the day and was fortunate to watch a beautiful sunset over this pretty bay. I was particularly enchanted by the wonderful atmosphere created by all the many Italian families out enjoying their waterfront walk on a weekday evening. There were grandparents chatting to their friends, teenagers hanging out on the benches and kids running around playing games – all chatting loudly in Italian of course! Timeless Travels – Cortona
Cortona, Italy is a lovely little mountainside village located in Tuscany. After reading the well-known book Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes in which she writes about her life in Italy renovating a beautiful old villa I knew this was a place we had to visit during our holiday to Italy. We spent only a few hours visiting this village but I could definitely have spent more time there. I would also have loved to have discovered “Bramasole” from the book but time didn’t allow. Timeless Travels – Tuscany
After our 3 nights in Florence we headed out into the Tuscan countryside in our zippy little Smart car rental…. We had found the most amazing place to use as our base, Villa di Sotto. Our room was very simple but had a sweet patio with an incredible view over the vineyards – the perfect place for prosecco and pesto and parma ham sandwiches – all of which we stocked up on at the local grocery shop.
