Surprises from Style36
PremierShop – Style36 (previously 36 Boutiques) recently surprised me with a parcel delivered to my door to promote their Mother’s Day campaign running this week. In my surprise package were the following fashion items… A “Chanel” style black & white tweed jacket by G Couture. This style of jacket is an item I have been keen to get my hands on for some time but obviously due to the price associated with genuine Chanel pieces there was no way it was going to happen soon… I am really happy with this little faux Chanel jacket as it’s a super versatile … Read More »

A happy home
How beautiful is this vintage-style home located in Tasmania, Australia? I particularly love the beautiful blue of the kitchen cupboards! I love all the romantic touches esp the pink peonies. I’m quite keen to try to “dress” my newly painted coffee table with some coffee table books, a vase of fresh flowers and a pretty candle. I recently watch this great little instructional video on how to style a coffee table by Emily at Cupcakes and Cashemere and am feeling inspired. Everywhere I go I’m looking out for a pretty silver tray and small bud vase – let me know … Read More »
West Coast Beach House
When you read this I will be enjoying a short break up the West Coast of South Africa at a favourite holiday spot where we go to chill, unwind, take long beach walks, collect shells, enjoy sundowners, watch the most amazing sunsets over the sea, curl up on the couch, read, sleep, crayfish and braai – lots! I am so lucky to have easy access to such a special place and I love building family memories there. We always love our time there and find we are packing up again far too quickly. Each time we leave we promise to … Read More »
Stars Workshop (& Win!)
Recently I have heard about a great new series of workshops called Stars Workshops that are held monthly for women. Each month the workshops have a different focus. The January workshop was hosted at Wembley Studios in Gardens, and was called “Beauty From The Inside Out”, which focused on nutrition, skincare and makeup application. The concept is to inspire women of all ages to learn tips & tricks on how to be the best possible version of themselves (Very similar to my own idea for Becoming you in fact!). The inspiration to host a workshop for women on how to … Read More »

I’m starting to get a better idea of what colours and styles I love by visiting blogs and interior websites to find the homes that I adore and this gorgeous girly apartment is definitely one of them! … Read More »
Shoe Rules
Co-ordinating your clothes with the right shoes can go a long way to cement your reputation as a classy lady or a careless girl! Being careless about the last detail of an outfit can ruin an entire look. Often this is simply because we haven’t learnt some basic rules about pairing footwear with garments. Depending on the season, time of day and the occasion you are dressing for, you will need to consider the following guidelines for selecting shoes: High heels should be worn with knee-length or long skirts. Celebrating your style With-Style!
A while ago I was introduced to the lovely Candice Ilic from With-Style at an event that was aimed at helping women to become more confident in their fashion choices. This is definitely an area I could do with some assistance in so I was really interested in what she had to say and what services she offers… After chatting a bit to her I discovered that the essence behind her fashion styling company and my blog, Becoming you, was very similar – we both want to inspire women to refocus on themselves, to discover long forgotten parts of their … Read More »

This weekend I will be going to the “Wedding of the Year”, well for our family anyway! It is with much anticipation that we have been waiting for my youngest brother-in-law to meet and marry the girl of his dreams and finally we will welcome a new sister-in-law to our family on Saturday! Much excitement has been building since the engagement in January and in many ways I am more excited about this wedding than I was my own because as I am only a guest I get to sit back and enjoy the proceedings, savour the delicious food, absorb … Read More »
