What I… Roxy from City Girl Searching

Posted on 17th April, by Kathryn Rossiter in Interviews, What I ... Blogger Interviews. No Comments

I adore discovering new blogs and as I love photography blogs that have beautiful pics really appeal to me. I recently found City Girl Searching – this very pretty space belongs to new bride and farmer’s wife – Roxy. She has made the big leap from Joburg City Girl to Kwa-zulu Natal Country Gal! Here she shares a few more insights about herself and her life. Enjoy! What I…. Know…life is too short not to do the things you love. Dream big, make mistakes, laugh at yourself, attempt the impossible. Love…traveling with my husband to new places & going on …  Read More »

I’m a huge fan of weddings and would happily plan my own all over again… as long as it could take place here…. The stunning scenery of Tuscany in Italy with the amazing lighting of these photos certainly make it rank highly as a dream wedding destination. Images via Style me Pretty

Parisienne Perfection

Posted on 25th March, by Kathryn Rossiter in Inspiration, Pretty Places, Travel. No Comments

Over the Easter weekend 8 years ago I spent a lovely long weekend in Paris – it was exactly as I dreamed it would be – perfection! Still a few days is far too short to spend in the “City of Lights”…. as a francophile of note I’m super keen to head back there for a week or two. We managed to see all the sights, but there was so much we didn’t manage to do and see, mostly I just want to spend time leisurely strolling the streets and soaking up the Parisenne atmosphere! These pretty photos have me …  Read More »

Planning a family photo shoot

Posted on 25th January, by Kathryn Rossiter in Families, Family Life, Inspiration, Kids, Photography. 1 Comment

Recently I was asked for a family photo for a project that a friend was compiling and after scouring my iPhoto for a few hours I realized that the last time we had a picture taken of all of us was the previous Christmas – 12 months ago! What a travesty…. I feel rather sad that we haven’t got any proof of our family unit during the whole of 2012! Part of the problem is that when you are the photographer of the family, like myself, you never appear in any of the photos. I have plenty of my kids …  Read More »

Interview with a Photographer – Rebecca from Love made Visible

When day dreaming of a career during your teens what did you want to be? Did you imagine you would be doing a “day job” or a “dream job”? I think I am right in saying most of us dreamt about the dream job! No one thought they would be stuck behind a desk shuffling papers for a living, but that is just what the majority of us end up doing – all to pay the bills at the end of the month! Now I’m definitely not knocking that option as I too have found myself doing jobs for the …  Read More »

Recently Se7en asked me to do a post about “Se7en + 1 things…” to feature on her blog as part of her celebration of her blogaversary. When she approached me last year to feature in her Blogaversary “Celebrity” line up I really did think she had made a mistake… but who was I to turn down such a fabulous opportunity!!?? When she came back this year I was even more excited – at least I didn’t stuff up the last time ;) My post went live on Se7en a while ago but I thought you might like to see it. …  Read More »

Terrific Taylor

Posted on 2nd October, by Kathryn Rossiter in Celebrities, Fashion, Inspiration, Magazines, Music. No Comments

Lately I have developed a bit of a girl crush… on Taylor Swift. I know that makes me sound like a teenager but I really don’t care! I love everything about her and have been playing the one CD of hers I own on repeat – much to my husbands’ despair… wait a few years and there will be no escaping this music my love (we have a toddler girl who will become a preteen all too quickly!) Anyway I’m not only loving her cute and catchy country tunes but also her fashion choices and her All-American girl vibe. She …  Read More »

A wonderful wedding

Posted on 27th September, by Kathryn Rossiter in Families, Family Life, Inspiration, Marriage, Photography, Weddings. 1 Comment

A few weeks ago I wrote about a very special family wedding that was coming up… My brother-in-law was marrying his lovely lady and I was getting a new sister-in-law!! A wonderful wedding day and amazing family celebration…. all over far too quickly unfortunately! Except for the photos…. The wonderfully talented team of Rebecca and Bruce from Love Made Visible captured the fun and festivities so perfectly! What a treat to relive the day through their lens. I adore their photography and might have had a part to play in introducing the beautiful couple to them… and I’m so glad …  Read More »
