Magazine covers
Given my addiction to magazines I loved this fun way of identifying magazines by the words featured most prominently on their covers! A jam jar of quotes
I recently found this wonderful idea online and thought I should share it with you as it really is something I am going to start this year. A quick and easy New Year resolution that is inspiring, thoughtful, fun, sentimental – what more could you want? The idea is to keep a track of all the cute and quirky things your kids say by writing them down as soon as they are said – any old piece of paper you can find will do (an old envelope, till receipt, page from your diary), just jot down the quote, who said … Read More »
How did you meet?
One of my favourite questions to ask people when meeting them for the first time is: “How did you meet?” (if they are together as a couple obviously!) I find it often tells you a little bit more about the persons in question than just the surface question and usually starts off a great conversation with more than a few laughs!! And many times I have been surprised by the “Soap opera” stories – a few are positively messy! It’s so interesting to me to discover the amazing ways that people meet and connect and ultimately continue to have a … Read More »
The Wonders of Wonderful Wooden Toys!
Besides the multitude of changes that occur when you have your first baby, one of the ones which creeps up on you quietly is how suddenly you rather choose to spend money on your kids than yourself! What one does find once you have kids is how many things there are to spend your money on all in the name of your children – the marketing companies really know how to tug on your heart (and purse) … Read More »

Clay Cafe
On a recent public holiday I joined a group of girls at the Clay Cafe in Hout Bay to use some creative juices and enjoy a morning of decorating our own “homemade” pottery while chatting and laughing around the communal table. It had been a while since I last had a morning off to just spend doing something which I enjoy without time restrictions and it was so therapeutic being creative. I definitely don’t do it often enough! It is a great spot for all ages – while I was there for the morning a variety of families (dads included), … Read More »
