Spa Review: Steenberg Spa

Nothing feels more indulgent than sneaking off mid-week for a spa treat… and that is exactly what I did recently at the gorgeous Steenberg Spa

Steenberg and I have a long-standing association… one of my very first jobs was as a waitress at the Golf Course Clubhouse, but over the years I’ve also enjoyed visiting friends (and for a short time, family) on the estate, attended launches at the stunning Catharina’s restaurant and spent a few sunny afternoons on the terrace at Bistro1682. But I’d never visited the spa…

What a mistake!

This is the hidden gem of Steenberg.

The Steenberg Spa is a stunning little escape from the world… As you walk in the door you are warmly welcomed by the attentive staff and shown to the intimate dressing room area.

After changing into a deliciously soft robe you head over to the relaxation space to await your treatment to begin. This was a highlight for me… soaking in the beautiful atmosphere created by the plush soft furnishings, ambient lighting and warmth of the fire meant I was able to unwind completely almost immediately after I arrived.

I was invited by Steenberg Spa to enjoy a spa treatment, but before I arrived I had no idea which one… When my lovely therapist informed me that it would be a !QMS facial I may have let out a little squeal of delight. (Anyway who’s tried a !QMS facial will know why.) These are some of the very best facials around when it comes too delivering immediate results and my skin always looks incredible after one!

The therapists at Steenberg Spa really seem to love what they do and this is evident in their kind, quiet ways but also in how they care about the little things… laying my robe out on the bed and placing my slippers on the floor for me for example.

This winter be sure to make a plan to enjoy a serene sensory journey in one of the 4 beautifully decorated treatment rooms (including a couple’s room) at Steenberg Spa, followed by a refreshing tea ceremony between treatments in the calming relaxation room!

Choose from locally inspired Africology body scrubs, wraps, massages and pedicure to detox, hydrate, restore or re-energise your skin or enjoy the beautiful benefits of a !QMS facial like me!

My afternoon at Steenberg Spa left me feeling so relaxed that I was not in any hurry to head home and spent a little bit more time unwinding in the relaxation area with a glass of Steenberg sparkling wine!

This is the perfect place to escape if you’re looking to relax and rejuvenate this winter! I’m so pleased to have found this beautiful spa located so close to home… I’ll certainly be planning a return visit soon!
