Naturals Beauty products
In recent months I have become much more aware how what we put in and on to our bodies has a huge effect on our health and well-being. One of the things I have started to change in our home is that we have slowly been changing all the household cleaning products and everyday body products to ones that are more “natural” or “green”. This means that I have been on the hunt for a range of skin care products to use that don’t contain any of the ingredients that do more harm than good (according to articles I have read)
I was recently introduced to one such range of products called Naturals Beauty. Founded by Tanya du Bois, Naturals Beauty was born out of her curiosity for natural products after the birth of her first child when she discovered that there were limited natural ranges available in South Africa. She was joined in 2009 by Louise Botes who had 12 years’ experience in natural and organic ranges and together they have developed an extensive range that includes hand creams, body butters, creams and scrubs, 3 different face product ranges and a line for men!
I tried out the Essentials Collection range of face products including the Milk Cleanser, Day Cream and Night Cream as well as the Ylang Ylang Bergamot Body Creme and Hydrating Masque. I have been suffering with quite dry skin on my face for a few months – not something I have had before and I was wondering what had caused it as well as how to remedy the problem. I have been pleasantly surprised that this range has meant that any trace of dry skin I had has now disappeared and this is in the middle of winter which is a season notorious for dry, scaly skin. I have loved the luxurious feel of the Day Cream. It is thick but still easily absorbed into the skin. The Essentials Collection Day Cream has nourishing, hydrating and cell stimulating properties. The firming, energising and anti-wrinkle actions come from the Baobab Extract and Oil (containing omega 3,6,9). Soybean Oil (with lecithin), Avocado Oil (vitamins A,E,B), Cucumber Extract and Sutherlandia extract keep the skin healthy and are ideal for all skin types.
Another favourite of mine from the range has been the Milk Cleanser. For a few months I have been avoiding using any harsh cleansers that contain foaming agents which has meant that I have really only used water to clean my face so this has been a great find and I have enjoyed using this creamy lotion daily. Even my other half has been sneaking some of this during his morning shower as the bottle seems to be emptying quickly! The Essentials Collection Milk Cleanser gently cleanses the skin and removes impurities and make-up. The anti-aging properties of the polyphenols (apple extract) and the omega oils (avocado oil) will moisturise, smooth, hydrate and refresh the skin. Sutherlandia and Cucumber keeps the skin healthy and improves skin radiance
The Body Creme has a lovely, rich texture and the fragrance of the Ylang Ylang, Bergamot and Neroli is quite heavenly! I can’t say I use lotion daily but during the winter I do like to use it a bit more often esp before bed and again this cream is great for winter as it’s excellent for dry skin, scaly skin. Ylang Ylang is great for the balancing action of sebum which is known to be soothing on the skin. Neroli stimulates the growth of healthy new cells and aids sleeplessness and Bergamot is helpful in treating nervous tension. At R86 for 125ml it is a really good price too.
Other products in the Essentials Collection range include the Hydrating Masque – A hydrating and purifying masque that removes impurities from the skin, soothes, moisturizes and nourishes it. Chamomile extract provides calming and protective properties.
The Night Cream is a luxurious nourishing cream with firming properties that helps to even skin tone. Baobab Extract provides anti-wrinkle action. Soybean Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Avocado Oil moisturise and provide vitamins A,E,B and omega 3 and 6 to the skin which improve smoothness and elasticity.
In both these products anti-oxidants are provided by Rooibos extract and Vitamin E to keep the skin healthy and looking young. Please do comment if you happen to notice an improvement in my appearance during the next few weeks…. After the broken nights we have been having lately I could definitely do with looking healthier and younger!
All the products in the Essentials Collection range are ideal for all skin types.
