So, all too quickly it is the end of April and time for me to share with you My Five Favourite Finds.
1. My iPad
Finally I am catching up with the world around me and have got my very own iPad (about time considering I work in Social Media!!) This has got to be my most favourite find of the month, if not the year, I’m loving finding new apps, browsing in bed and being connected on the run. It’s everything you’ve heard it is AND MORE. Much thanks must go to my very clever and very generous husband who surprised me with this winning Wedding Anniversary gift! Will be hard to beat next year hun! 😉 Price: R399 per month on Vodacom contract
2. Luli Pulani pretty pumps
I have always been a ballet pump fan but in the past have tended to stick to plain colours (as is my usual fashion style) I decided to branch out recently and chose these lovely handmade leather pumps by Luli Pulani. They are still in a neutral colour but with an extra bit of texture and variety of colour – I am loving them and they have barely left my feet this past month. Price: R580
3. Arômes de La Motte Massage Wax Candle
I’m a huge fan of natural products and adore aromatherapy and this fragrant candle features both. Arômes de La Motte are a new range of aromatherapy products made on the La Motte Wine Estate and available to purchase at the Farm Shop. They are made from fynbos oils harvested on the estate. Besides the stunning massage candle the range includes a Hand & Body Lotion, Hand Wash, Shower and Bath Gel, Room Freshener, Essential Oil and Palm Oil Soap all beautifully packaged in luxurious black boxes. The products share the attributes of the essential oils they are made of such as the anti-septic properties of buchu, calming and anti-bacterial properties of Cape Chamomile, anti-inflammatory properties of Geranium, therapeutic and healing properties of Lavender, calming and anti-septic properties of Bergamot and the skin toning properties of Grapefruit oil. They have a subtle fragrance and are nourishing natural moisturizers which are easily absorb into the skin. The products are also stylishly presented in elegant charcoal, lime and white boxes and make for beautiful gifts – perfect for Mother’s Day coming up soon! Price: R220
4. Today Ready-Made Frozen Cookie Dough
I’ve always heard about ready-made cookie dough in the US via books and tv shows but it’s never been available in SA… until now! Today (makes of pastry and pies) have finally brought this fab family-friendly product to the shelves and I for one am super excited about it as I’m sure busy moms across the country are too! What a win to be able to whip up a batch of cookies for the hungry hordes in just a few minutes, not to mention the mess-free fun you can have if you get your kids involved in “baking” them with you or if you’re brave enough – on their own! It really is the best kind of baking – no prep and no washing up. Just rolling out the dough and cutting out the shapes (and eating the rewards!) I have got my hands on all 4 flavours namely Chocolate, Vanilla, Coconut and Ginger and will shortly be sharing more details of our experience with this fun new product. Price: R19,99
5. Coloured jeggings from Pick n Pay
Since I first bought a pair of pink jeans in Spring last year I have become a bit obsessed with the coloured jean trend and found it to be a really fun and easy way to brighten up my wardrobe and bring a bit of diversity to my usual “mom uniform” of blue denim jeans and a top. I read somewhere (maybe via Pinterest) that having different coloured bottoms be they pants or skirts with the same number of top makes for far larger selection of outfit choices so I decided to try that theory out. Fortunately I have found that my local Pick n Pay has been stocking a great colour selection of skinny jeans and jeggings by Cherokee. Yes I know they aren’t know for their fashion forward taste but then again, neither am I 😉 The prices are really reasonable which makes it super tempting to slip another new pair of pants into my trolley with each weekly grocery shop! Ooops! So far I have a pink, white, baby blue, bright blue and black pair of jeggings with my eyes open for mint green and coral if I can find them. Let me know if you spot a pair. Price: R129.99
There you have it – my fab finds for this month. I’m really enjoying this post series and hope you are too! Please share with me what your favourite find of the past month is in the comments below so I get some great tips too!
