In Feb I revived a series called My 5 Favourites (see my Feb choices here) I had every intention of doing a similar post every month featuring My 5 Favourite Finds for the month. Obviously March has now come and gone and the post didn’t make an appearance! But I did keep a list of my choices for the month of March and thought I’d share them with you now even if a bit late….
So here are My 5 Favourite Finds for March
1. Garnier BB Cream
I had heard and read a lot about BB creams and tried my first one from The Body Shop towards the end of last year. I was happy with the concept but was ill-advised about the shade when making the purchase so found that it was not suited to me. I also found the cream to dry my skin quite a bit. When walking past the Garnier display at Clicks I decided to give BB creams another bash and this time knew to buy the lightest one available. So far I have been wearing it every day as a tinted moisturizer. I have been very happy with the way it smoothes and evens my skin tone. I usually am not one to wear foundation every day – only on nights out – but now I am happy to apply this every day and I definitely feel more confident facing the world. The bonus is that BB creams have many other benefits too like sunscreen and anti-aging properties. I recommend trying it out if you haven’t already. Price: R79.99
2. Cotton On
A bit late to the party – but then again when do moms have time to go clothes shopping? Let alone budget!! Anyway I finally made my way to Cotton On in Cavendish and boy am I glad! What a find! I didn’t have too long to browse but in the shot time I was there I managed to find 2 classic pieces to add to my winter wardrobe at really awesome prices. A pair of black ballet pumps which I have been wearing daily and a smart/ casual black blazer with a stripey lining that looks great when rolled up at the sleeves. A great option to take me from daytime activities such as dropping kids and meetings to evening events or dinners. I’m hoping to make a return visit soon and move away from all-black purchases. Slowly slowly…. Prices: Pumps – R120, Blazer – R399
3. Lis Spa/ Moor body treatments
I blogger about my experience at the Lis Spa over here but I still haven’t got over the amazing time I spent there. The afternoon of pampering was out of this world and I thoroughly enjoyed being treated with the Moor products. Mothers Day is coming up so start dropping hints NOW. You never know!
4. Moya Hand & Body Lotion
I had heard about the Moya brand of body products available at spas but never had the opportunity to try them first hand until recently when I was given a bottle of their Cape Camomile Hand and Body Lotion. I was able to hear first hand from the owner about the very special steps that are taken to prepare their range of products using pure fynbos essential oils and no artificial fragrance, colourants, animal products, alcohol or mineral oil. The beautifully fragranced lotion has soothing, softening, calming and relaxing properties all harnessed from the Cape Camomile essential oil and has been a very welcome addition to my dressing table as part of my daily body care routine especially as we head towards the “dry skin zone” of winter! Price: R155 for 300ml
5. My new chandelier from Eagle Lighting
I have been loving revamping my bedroom into a boudoir and this purchase was what made the transformation complete. I have wanted to own a chandelier of my own for a very long time but they always seem to be so pricey and I wasn’t quite sure where it would fit into my very “family friendly” home! Cue my bedroom project and a helpful friend who pointed me in the right direction – Eagle Lighting in Tokai – my very own pretty, sparkly chandelier for under R1000. Win. P.S. Don’t ask about the installation – that was not on my 5 Favourites for this month Price: R999
