This week I am excited to be featuring Vicki Sleet from I Want That as my “What I…” interviewee. Vicki’s beautiful blog is a showcase of all things design – especially the details! It’s all about making our lives prettier, more interesting, more colourful and more inspired. Vicki loves sharing the lives of interesting people and great places. Apart from being a brilliant blogger of 2 blogs (the other being I Want That Wedding), she is also a freelance magazine journalist and editor.
Here are her answers to the “What I…” questions
Is that finding your passion is essential to life on this earth.
I know that I have met my match in The Captain.
I know that one day I will be a teacher.
I know that I need to find more balance and that this year is my year to do it.
I know that greens are good for you but sometimes Strawberry Whirls are even better.
I know that fabrics and paint colours and pretty things don’t change the world but they can make it feel like a better place.
I spend too much time online (refer to balance above) and I am more creative and efficient when I tune out more often.
I love seeing the sea every morning when I wake up.
The Captain obvs! His girls and Mr Cat.
Me-time. Sometimes to the detriment of me-and-The-Captain-time.
Weekend afternoon naps.
Peanut butter on toast with a smear of Bovril added to it.
Bowls (I have an obsession).
Colour in my home and in my wardrobe.
Anything rose scented but especially Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose bath gel.
Finding a bargain.
Daily: dailymail.co.uk (a guilty pleasure), interiors mags and blogs, biographies at bedtime
Weekends: Vanity Fair, FT Weekend, various kindle reads
Holidays: Shlock – predictable often badly written chic lit, foodie novels, travel
More Le Creuset pots – I bought myself a yellow one last year and absolutely love cooking in it
A beautiful rug for our lounge and a deep buttoned round velvet ottoman
To be fit again
A for-life customised Missibaba handbag
A way to stop Mr Cat from shredding my couch
A waistline that stays the same
To go back to Greece this year
Sunscreen religiously. I wish I’d heeded that advice sooner.
To live more consciously, to cook more and spend more time tuning out.
