Interview for beyond35

By on December 28, 2012 in Interviews, My Interviews 0

Recently I interviewed Clara from beyond35 in my What I… blogger interview series and she reciprocated with an interview request for her blog. I thought you might be interested in reading what I had to say!

I blog because…
I wanted to remind myself that I was more than “just” a mom. I had interests that I had been neglecting for a while and I wanted to express them and in the process remind other women to do the same too! Also I have always loved magazines and blogs and figured I could do it too – it’s been such a brilliant opportunity to develop my writing and photography plus I’ve met wonderful people and experienced some amazing events and products too! Find out more about me and my blog here!

My worst beauty product ever tried…
I generally find some masks tend to sting my skin so I’m a bit weary of testing new ones BUT when I do find one that doesn’t sting I know I’m onto something good! Worst beauty experience must have been a back massage by someone with long finger nails. OWWWWW!!

My beauty essentials…
I do love pretty products but I’m a basic jeans and t-shirt kinda gal most of the time due to my mom status! My beauty essentials are in line with that – a good moisturizer, mascara, lip gloss or 8 hour cream and Moroccan Hair Oil are my daily essentials. I also love a spritz of fragrance!

My signature fragrance…
My favourite fragrance is one that reminds me of my honeymoon – Kenzo Flower. 10 years later I still use it as my signature scent and every time I wear it I am reminded of Mauritius! Not a bad association 😉

My favourite item of clothing…
Currently this has to be my new pink skinny jeans. I’m loving the trend of colourful bottoms after literally YEARS of only wearing blue denim and I can’t wait to expand my range. Would love some mint ones!!

My must have this summer…
Suntan lotion! I do like to look tanned but have opted to go for a fake natural tan rather than fry my own skin. I have recently discovered Ultrasun and think it looks like a great option as it doesn’t contain any of the “baddies” and sinks into the skin so you don’t look ghost like either!!

The brand I would like to be the face of would be…
Oh wow what a question – I think I would choose Stella McCartney. I adore her ethical fashion range, she also does shoes, accessories, lingerie, fragrance and the cutest kids range!! Yes please Stella if you’re looking for a new “face” I’d be happy to help 😉

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for almost 6 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
