Gembox

Expecting a baby is one of the most emotional times in a woman’s life – so many ups and downs to go through – excitement, fear, happiness and nervousness plus many more! I vividly recall thinking to myself “I should be enjoying this more” while I was pregnant, even though I had struggled to conceive for 16 months and really wanted the baby… alas we are all only human and never entirely satisfied are we? But pregnancy is not all bad! Over the course of 9 months there are definitely many highs such as the first scan, the first kick and the baby shower! According to the “The Five Love Languages” my primary love language is “Gifts” (for a while I was a bit embarrassed to admit it but now I fully embrace it!) so the baby shower was a definite high for me! Surprise gifts are even better and always welcome so when I was recently surprised with a delivery of a Gembox to review I was thrilled – this is a NEW monthly gift box aimed primarily at pregnant and new moms. A little treasure box filled with goodies for this special time.

Gembox is a monthly service bringing you hand picked items for every stage in your pregnancy or your baby’s life. Developed with Mom’s in mind Gembox curates each box with the latest products helping Mom’s address new challenges and the various developmental stages of their child.

To find out more why not watch my vlog of the contents of the July Gembox here…

Inside this month’s box were the following brands:
○ Johnson’s Bedtime Bath
○ Purity Gold baby food
○ Palmers cocoa butter for stretch marks
○ M.O.M Diaries including recipe ideas and goal setting
○ A sweet Gemgem baby beanie
○ Kids Emporium vouchers and various other vouchers and samples.

Another service offered by Gembox is the Gemgem website – a place that inspires, educates and prepares Moms and Moms-to-be for their babies first year of life. The website provides week-by-week pregnancy advice and guidance as well as baby and toddler stage tips and pointers. Gemgem is a one-stop info hub for new and expectant Moms. Gemgem also offers regular expert and professional advice from a range of guest bloggers and columnists as well as baby goodie competitions, baby product news and general mommy related conversational posts. Pop on over for some encouragement and advice www.gemgem.co.za.

As I’m out of the baby bearing phase (for now or for ever… not quite sure yet!) I will be blessing one of my preggie friends with this little treat and will be keeping it in mind for all future babyshowers and new arrivals. It is a really convenient option for those friends and family members expecting babies across the country too as the postage is included in the price! You can subscribe for your Gembox on a monthly basis for R99 (including delivery) or buy a three, six or 12-month subscription at a discounted rate. For more information you can visit their website www.gemgem.co.za or contact them via info@gemgem.co.za or +27 713 519 086.

I also recieved a Gembox and must say I was like a small child on his birthday. Waiting for the August box to be delivered. What a brillant concept.

As for recommending a babyproduct – I wish every mom could have a cuddlewrap/swaddle blanket (I have the Babysense one.) Makes the world of difference in calming a newborn.

  2. I have liked both!
I would love to try the Purity Gold foods. I didn’t even know that they’d brought out a ‘gold’ range!

  3. Elle says:

The Babaderm products are an absolute must for us, perfect for sensitive baby skin, it contains probiotics and works very well for eczema (on my baby and myself!)

More faves include Lansinoh, Sudocrem, Johnson’s Bedtime Bath (baby is MUCH more chilled afterwards!) and our BabySense Taglet!

  4. rehana seedat says:

Have liked both Becoming You and Gembox facebook pages a long time ago. Have tweeted this giveaway as well. Twittername: online61524
    Would recommend Babaderm products anytime

  5. Lauren says:

I have liked both pages :)
I LOVED using walleda products with my first, but I’m not sure if they sell in SA (we were in UK at the time). I guess any organic / natural foods or products would be good. I have only ever used the ollie organic food range and woolies baby food, so would be keen to try out the purity range on our next baby.

  6. Lizanne Pitt says:

Favourite/must have product is a Om Baba mei tai carrier, I would not have survived without mine with my son, and will be using it come December when my little girl is born.

Would totally love to try the gembox products!

  7. Trudie says:

My second baby is due in 5 weeks, with Mouse I loved the Bambino Mio nappies, I never used disposables and I will for sure use them with my little Peanut! I would love to try the Purity foods, strangely enough I never used them with Mouse, I always made my own, but I would love to give them a try!

  8. Adele says:

    Hi,

I’m expecting my little girl who will be joining her big brother (17 months apart) next month…..I can highly recommend the “ubbababa” sling, my son lived in it and it’s SUPER comfortable for mom to wear too!

  19. Ruweida says:

Hi; I’m already a fan of both pages. I recommend Purity foods; Pampers Active Baby Nappies; Nestle Cerealac and Just For Baby Aqueous Cream with Rooibos extract.

  20. Crystal Erskine says:

I would recommend the Johnson & Johnson, Pampers and Purity brands………. You cant go wrong with it!!!! Gotta luv it :-D

  21. Lizelle says:

I can really recommend Cetaphil Cleanser for Babies. It really was the only product that didn’t cause cradle cap on my kids, plus they didn’t get that bold spot usually caused by breakage on the back of their heads.

  22. Karishma says:

I am a new fan of both ur pages

I would most definitely recommend Oilatum Soap & cream for babies with sensitive & dry skin. This is fragrance free & is even suitable for small babies even if used on their face.
It actually forms a protective film which moisturises, soothes, softens & rehydrates the skin. I use it on my baby girl, every single day after she use to break out with a rash after using other products.

…I would love to try the purity gold baby food with my baby, as she loves the purity 4 fruits flavour & I would love to try something a little different with her. I would also love to try the M.O.M diaries & recipe. I also think that I would really fall in love with the gemgem baby beanie. So fingers & toes really crossed tight, hoping that I will be your lucky winner for the first time…=)

  23. Rene Groyer says:
