Learning the manual settings on my SLR camera – tick!

Posted on 18th May, by Kathryn in Becoming me, Featured, Inspiration, My Photography, Photography. No Comments

Ticking something off one’s “bucket list” doesn’t happen all too often (unless you have a VERY long list) so when I was able to do just that recently I was really excited! Since purchasing my SLR digital camera 5 and a half years ago I have been meaning to learn how to use all the manual settings… I think I’m not alone in this as so many people I know who own beautiful SLR camera’s keep them set to AUTO!! I did, for way too long, the main reason (excuse) being that I bought the camera just before the birth …  Read More »

The missing diamond….

Posted on 12th May, by Kathryn in Becoming me, Faith. 4 Comments

Last night my sometime OCD husband got into a “clean up this house” mood. I do appreciate these moods, but don’t always share them. Anyway I summoned up some energy to join him and started with my bedside table. Suddenly, I noticed something shiny on the floor next to the bed and realised it was ONE of my diamond stud earrings. I usually take them off at night and put them on my bedside table and this meant that the other one should be in the near vicinity, but NO, it was not in the usual spot which suddenly meant …  Read More »

50 ways to change your life for under R50

Posted on 6th March, by Kathryn in Becoming me, Inspiration, Marriage. 5 Comments

At the beginning of the year I sat down to think of my New Year’s Resolutions – I usually pick something to give up (this year is fizzy drinks – Coke!) and a word to focus on (Truth)… besides that I’m not particularly good at keeping them! After thinking about it for a while I realised that what might be easier for me is to make small changes throughout the year – a new one every week. I had planned to blog weekly in detail about each change but as you can tell it is now the beginning of March …  Read More »

Today I am taking part in a blog link up over at Inner Vision called Trending Tuesday. The idea is to share what things are “trending” in your life at the moment and share them with other bloggers! I thought you might like to know a little bit more about me! O, what a party – The O Tea Party

Posted on 13th November, by Kathryn in Becoming me, Cape Town, Magazines, My Photography. 1 Comment

Recently I was invited to the annual O Tea Party hosted by O, The Oprah Magazine. This year the Cape Town event took place among the vineyards of the Groot Constantia Wine Estate – at Simons restaurant. Before the event started I knew to expect a fun and fanciful afternoon when I read on the the invitation to wear a hat. Besides sun hats for the beach I have never been one to wear hats as I find them far too flamboyant but I wasn’t about to be the only guest without one so managed to borrow one at the …  Read More »
