A burst of colour

By on June 29, 2011 in Creativity, Design, Fashion, Inspiration 0

Whoever has not realised how much colour affects our daily lives really must have been in a black and white movie. Colour really is one of the most powerful methods of altering our mood – can you not help but smile when you spot something a sunny yellow or perk up when surrounded by purple pansies? Was there really nothing more exciting as a child than a fresh box of colourful Crayola crayons? So here are some brights to brighten your day!

I certainly love colour but along with the masses seem to dress myself in a palette of greys, blacks and occasional blues. When dressing my baby daughter I often have wondered when it was that we decided that it was inappropriate to wear all the colours of the rainbow in one pair of leggings (as she was this morning!) If only we allowed ourselves a bit more fun when it came to fashion. Maybe the new trend for colour blocking will see a summer of colour?

In the meantime here is a great website for all things colourful – COLOUR lovers – a really useful resource for all designer sorts. Read their insightful blog here.

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for almost 6 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
